Brainstorming for The Revelation!

Monday, April 22, 2013

The Outreach Committee for The Urantia Book Fellowship met in Denver for 3 days, April 19-21st.  What a wonderful group of enthusiastic and creative souls we have working on behalf of this revelation!  It is wonderful to have such a great team!

Mary Jo Garascia, Thomas Orjala, Lynn Goodwin,  Andrea Barnes, Paula Thompson, and Jo Ann Wiedman joined forces for 3 days of brainstorming about ways to get this revelation to the world.

We covered topics like our upcoming expos.  These include locations like; Denver, Honolulu, Albuquerque, Chicago, Raleigh and Portland with more on the way.  We also discussed our materials that we use for these expos.  Our idea is to refine, update and give a branded look to them.

Study groups will also be getting our attention with care packages delivered to their inbox containing materials, ideas for outreach, and other 'goodies'.

Discussion about reaching out to target groups like the LDS, Masons, Catholics and Emergent Christians.  Creating ways to connect with them is something we will work on along with the Interfaith Committee.

Developing introduction videos played a prominent role in our conversations.  We know that young people go to YouTube frequently and this medium is becoming an increasingly popular way to promote these teachings.

If you have ideas you'd like to share with the Outreach Committee don't hesitate to contact us.  We are always looking for other dedicated souls with creative vision to move the revelation forward.

Thank you!

Andrea Barnes

Report from the Healthy Living Expo, Long Beach California March 1-3, 2013

Monday, March 11, 2013

I have wanted to shift away from the new age type expo’s to see what response we would get at an event more geared toward healthy life styles. The Healthy Living Expo turned out to be a good transition into that world. Many of the booths had health related products and services ranging from natural dentistry and local organic growers to nutritional items. There were also a few booths by local religious and new thought communities like Buddhism and Scientology.  Read More
